Product Description

The Gnaraloo SUP provides the ultimate in stand-up-paddleboard fun and safety for first time riders through to paddle enthusiasts.

With an emphasis on safety and durability, the Gnaraloo SUP has a thick textured Polyethylene deck and a soft slick skin on the bottom that’s tough enough to take a beating, yet is soft enough to keep the rider safe in the event of impact.

Other notable features include the high-density end bumpers on the nose and tail, a convenient carry handle, and reinforced rail zones that offer protection from paddle contact. The board is also fitted with the FCS softboard system complete with flexible M-5 fins.

The Gnaraloo SUP is ideally suited to paddling on lakes and flat water, however it can still be used in the surf. The relaxed rocker and rolled bottom allows the board to make smooth directional changes with minimal effort.

The secret to the performance of the Gnaraloo SUP lies within the core. Embedded plywood stringers maintain the boards stiffness and structural integrity, which allows the rider to accelerate quickly with only a few strokes and then maintain momentum and glide. The high amount of volume, combined with the generous width also make this board incredibly buoyant, stable and very easy to ride.

Your initiation into the world of stand up paddle boarding starts with the Gnaraloo SUP.

Softshell Construction

Softshell was developed for surf schools and beginner surfers who required a safe, durable, easy to ride surfboard. Softshell is essentially a thick Polyethylene skin wrapped around the deck and rail of the board, combined with a soft slick bottom surface that keeps novice riders safe in the event of impact.

Using a vacuum construction process eliminates peeling or bubbling and allows Softshell boards to withstand the toughest of treatment, while providing many surfers the opportunity to safely catch their first wave.

I have been using my Gnaraloo Fatty soft top SUP for two seasons of whitewater paddling in Colorado and Montana. I typically prefer the responsiveness and stability of this rigid board vs. inflatables for most moderate class II/III runs. The flexible 4-inch fins work great and the overall durability has been excellent despite constant abuse in rocky creeks and rivers. I recommend the Gnaraloo Soft Top for river SUPers who want to experience snappier hard board eddy turns/peel outs, solid ferries and 32-inch wide stability through holes but without the worry of serious rock damage when using an epoxy/composite board for whitewater.
