Product Description

With the Modern Highline we examined what novice-to-intermediate surfers need in a surfboard to help them get as much actual surfing experience as possible. To become a better surfer, catching waves and increasing your confidence is the key, so we designed this board to be very buoyant (easy to paddle), stable (easy to get to your feet), and easy to control (smooth turns & go where you want on a wave). Essentially, we built this board to re-define the first steps in surfing so people develop their skills quicker and maximise the enjoyment they get from riding waves.

OUTLINE: The outline is the key to the Highline’s amazing stability. We basically took the middle section of a longboard, then tapered the nose to a semi-point and added a nice curved square tail, and by reducing the overall board length you maintain easier side-to-side turning.

ROCKER: Considered flat, the low rocker means this board paddles very quickly onto waves, and will maintain its speed once you’re up and riding. In this case flat equals flow, and less effort required from the rider to get the board up and going.

CONTOURS: Forward concave helps channel water efficiently across the flatter rocker, particularly when paddling and taking off. The back half of the board has a raised vee with double concave to offset the width, and allow for easier transitions from one rail to the other when performing turns.

FOIL: There’s lots of volume along the full length of the foil, but enough taper through the nose to avoid that ‘boat-like’ feel. The rails are full, but still soft which makes them forgiving as you glide across the face and connect your turns together.

PERFORMANCE: This model can be ridden shorter due to the extra width and higher volumes, which is a big advantage for beginner and intermediate surfers developing their turning skills. For better surfers, gear down into cruise mode before riding the Highline. It has a large sweet spot and offers a very fluid ride, especially in smaller, soft running beach and point waves.

AESTHETIC: The traditional resin tints, rail laps, and gloss finish not only look striking but also guarantees that each board has its own unique appearance.

Technical Information

Construction Polyester - PU

Polyester or PU construction uses traditional materials and laminating techniques to produce a strong, reliable surfboard with high quality finishes. All polyester boards are CNC milled from the shapers files and laminated by hand using quality components such as Hexcel fiberglass, Silmar resin and Bennett foam.
For years traditional polyester boards have been at the forefront of performance surfing. These boards feature a progressive flex pattern controlled by a high-grade timber stringer and feel very reliable under your feet. Polyester construction will perform in all surf conditions and can be adapted to suit a wide variety of surfboard models.

What’s a good fin set up for this board? Quad? Split keel? Thruster or twin fin with a stabiliser?

This is a great board! I almost quit surfing after going to a long short board after a lesson on a foamie. The shop person made some money from a beginner with no idea. Then I saw this board and thought why not give it another go, and it’s the best decision I have made. Within no time I am progressing quite quite quickly without feeling like I’m trying. The board paddles well, and once you’re up it’s so stable it’s actually quite hard to fall off. And it turns so easily! Couldn’t be happier! Only issue was the shop I bought this from said I had to buy the fins as well, so the extra $100 made it almost unaffordable.

This is a cracker board made with a strong glass job . I tried it as a thruster and quad , now the MR TFX twine and trailer are in this thing its killing it , heaps of drive and speed with great rail to rail ability. i chose it over the lost puddle jumper and think its a great choice for a lot less marketing dollars

Hi, I’m a beginner to intermediate surfer looking to surf 2-8ft waves. I’m 6”2 and around 75kgs. I’d like a good board for my height but also one that won’t be too big and will allow me to perform turns and manoeuvres in a short board manner. Which size should I get?

Just wondering about the volume recommended for a beginner? I’m 60kg/5″5 and buying my first board/graduating to fibreglass after 5 lessons. Would you recommend this kind of board over a mini mal?
