Product Description

The TC Paddle Surf Loose Leaf CV Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) brings design and innovation together to produce a board that caters to the performance end of the SUP wave riding market.

DESIGN: Inspired by Tom Carroll’s lust for riding waves with no limitations. The overall design focuses on providing control through efficient water flow, and remarkable response through specially designed bottom curves and a more refined outline.

CONTOURS: The unique bottom contours reduce rail volume and drag without sacrificing wave riding sensitivity. The deep double concave displacement hull allows free flowing water movement through the underside of the nose and enhances a positive connection to the wave face on steeper drops. Subtle concave through the centre leads into a pronounced spiral vee out the tail, which provides quick turning capabilities and effortless roll from rail-to-rail.

ROCKER: Moderate nose lift combined with a smooth rocker profile out through the tail allows this board to accelerate quickly off the mark and fit in the most critical parts of the wave at multiple angles of attack. The rocker has also been designed to allow forward movement when paddling into waves, and easy turning when driving off the tail zone.

FINS: Versatile 4 + 1 set up comes with the new FCS II TC SUP quad set for ultimate pivoting and turning response. The 6″ TC Paddle Surf single fin can be used with either the quad side or rear fins providing a more controlled feel.

PERFORMANCE: Five sizes in this model accommodate a broad range of riders. Highly responsive with just the right amount of control, this board is ideal for those adventuring from the intermediate to advanced end of their wave riding skills.

Approx board weights: 8’0: 7.9kg/17.4lbs | 8’4: 8.4kg/18.5lbs | 8’8: 9.1kg/20lbs | 9’0 9.8kg/21.6lbs | 9’6: 10.6kg/23.3lbs.

Carbon Vector

Carbon Vector (CV) construction delivers unmatched performance by harnessing the flex characteristics of epoxy and the strength of carbon. CV combines a stringerless, high-density custom shaped EPS core laminated with biaxial fiberglass, epoxy resin and a distinctive carbon fiber webbing, (positioned on the bottom and around the rails).

The carbon fiber webbing serves to evenly distribute tension across the entire surface area of the board to produce a lively, yet controlled flex pattern with remarkable memory recall. The biaxial fiberglass on the deck serves to add strength and also help prevent delaminating. CV boards feel fast, light and highly responsive in all conditions.

Created by GSI to compliment a range of board models and designs, this construction has proven to have superior flex properties over our other board technologies by up to 20%.

  1. 5 out of 5 Indo trials Loose Leaf 8'4

Well i only rode it a few days because i spent most time on another board on another island but this is what i found. Stock quads – didn’t like them, felt a bit tight for me but i wasn’t riding barrels. C Drive medium thrusters in head high waves – fun with plenty of drive but not as good as having the C-Drives on a JP 8’0. Large FCS 3D centre and small stock sides in 5ft – the most fun. The wings helped the board glide on early and when it walled up and the floor dropped away the board took off, chined rails on a 27″ wide board make it glue to steep faces easily and feel very solid, bottom turns on the 3D centre were psycho, laying over to horizontal whilst getting max drive off the long base and mega hold from the winglets is the best feeling. I tried with the big stock fins as sides and they were a bit big so will look for flat foil thrusters around 14.5 sq in. Negatives: a bit unpredictable to negotiate on to a wave in exposed breaks or with heaps of water ripping thru. Glass shatters on the rails, although it remained watertight, i put on some rail guard. Didn’t come with a centre fin. Can’t wait to get back to Indo for another go on it.

4 out of 5 Great value sale price

I had the 8’4 out in 1 footers last weekend in Darwin and was surprised how well it went. My old Blane 9’2 hull ripper will not work under 2 ft. I love the hull ripper style design which is why i bought. Construction is excellent, it weighs 8Kg, i own similar size carbon/composite boards a Kg or more less but i prefer a stronger construction for traveling. Will get it to Indo for a few weeks at the end of Sept after which i can provide a proper review. Currently running a large FCS 3D centre with the TC small sides. Will try out stock TC quads and medium C Drive thrusters in Indo. I would really like to try the 9′ x 29″ in bigger swells. i weigh 73Kg.
